In November 2016, Virginia Coop Credit Union will be changing to a new debit card program that offers you great new benefits. 

Your new debit card will arrive soon

Watch your mail. You will receive your new card in early November. If you don’t receive your new card by Monday, November 7th, please call us at 218-741-5644.

You’ll receive a new PIN

A mailer with your new PIN will arrive in the mail a few days after your card. If you wish to customize your PIN, use the easy-to-follow instructions included in the mailer to change your PIN using an interactive voice response (IVR) system.
You can activate your new card in one of three ways

  • Before or after November 9, call 866-590-4793 to activate your card over the phone
  • On or after November 9, use the card for a PIN-based transaction at an ATM
  • On or after November 9, use the card for a PIN-based transaction at any business

Be sure to destroy your old card on November 9, 2016

Your old debit card will no longer function on November 9. Please destroy any previously issued Virginia Coop Credit Union debit cards on November 9.


Once you receive your new debit card, you’ll need to provide the new number to businesses and service providers that charge your card for recurring or automated payments, such as internet services or fitness centers. On or after November 9, any use of the old card will cause your payment to decline and potentially interrupt your service.

Access account information anywhere, anytime with SHAZAM BOLT$

  • A debit purchase for more than an amount you specify
  • Any card-not-present debit transaction (i.e., phone, internet, mail)
  • Any suspicious or high-risk transaction that occurs on your account

The newest feature is transaction control. With the quick tap of a button you’ll be able to block or unblock your card, without affecting previous transactions, if your card is stolen, goes missing or you just want to pause it while traveling. This feature not only provides you peace of mind,
but also saves you the hassle associated with losing a card. Simply block your card until you find it, then unblock it for instant use. This fast and simple security feature takes fraud safety up a notch.
