June 2020 President’s Message
At VCCU, we remain committed to the health, safety, and well-being of our employees and members while delivering the best possible member experience during the COVID-19 pandemic.
During this unprecedented time in our world, we want to support you. If you are experiencing financial challenges, we encourage you to reach out to VCCU for guidance.
We have just opened our third drive thru lane. If you need direct assistance to complete a transaction, we have adapted operations to include curbside, we continue to use best practice sanitization measures and required s to serve you and our employees.
In talking with a member, she said that “aging isn’t easy, and anyone who says it is isn’t experiencing it.” She further went on to say if you asked yourself what your most valuable asset going forward is, she would guess you would say your home or your savings. She disagreed! Your spirit—your attitude—is the key component. Many people focus on beating themselves up over mistakes they have made or regrets for what you might have done differently years ago. Just Stop. Right now. It is a waste of time to focus on what you don’t have or could have done better. What is in your control is making the most of what you have today and taking the steps to create the future that you want and deserve. If you’re able to face the future without fear—if you can face it with the strength and conviction that you can handle whatever comes your way—well, your future will indeed be bright. Being able to envision better things ahead is what makes the so-called golden years truly golden.” I must say she made an outstanding impression on me.
On behalf of our entire VCCU team, I want to thank you for your patience and cooperation as our daily operations transformed during the COVID-19.
