March 2019 President’s Message

President's Message from Donald Rausch, VCCU CEO

The Power of Pulling Together

Life can be unpredictable, full of twists and turns around every new corner. This is especially true when trying to achieve your personal finance goals. At Virginia Coop Credit Union, we pride ourselves in helping our members navigate through the challenges. We had a fantastic year in growing our membership numbers in 2018. We are determined to make VCCU an essential part of your financial team this upcoming year. We are confident that through our direct, family orientated approach to lending, we can improve the financial well-being of individuals with in our community.

As a Credit Union, we realize the continued growth of VCCU has a direct correlation to how well we serve you. Our mission is simple, which is our members come first. We pride ourselves in believing in this ideal, and plan to continue so moving forward. You have joined the family. We like use the word “family” because being a financial cooperative, we gather our resources to benefit one another as a whole.

Like a family, we all have a voice, but some members of the family are designated as leaders. The same goes for voicing opinions in a credit union. We would like to offer an invitation to serve as a volunteer for your credit union. This is a great way to participate in the democracy that helps us differentiate from other financial institutions. We work on the bases that every member has one vote; regardless of the amount on deposit or the types of services used. Our whole member/owner base in good standing elect the Board and Committee members, who volunteer their time and service to all of us. They represent the interests of all member/owners through their effective credit union governance, ensuring positive financial results, appropriate enterprise risk management, regulatory compliance, and membership value creation. If you’re interested in serving as a volunteer, please contact me for more information.

Please join us Thursday, March 28th for our 82nd Annual Meeting.

Thank you for your membership and loyalty. We look forward to a lifelong relationship of pulling together as a cooperative, we can make a difference in the lives of our families, neighborhoods and communities.
